Happy Resurrection Day!

I love Easter!  It's my favorite holiday!

Today's message at church was GREAT!  We are going through Colossians and today we focused on the power to overcome death.  Death was not part of God's plan for us yet He still gives us eternity!  It was just so powerful!  How great to serve a God with the power to beat death!

Anyhow, we had a great weekend.  Friday we decorated eggs which was a lot of fun.  The kit we used had many options for decorating.  There was the traditional dye, glitter glue pens, stickers, and Aubrey's favorite- sparkles!  Her eggs were very "bedazzled"

Saturday we went to Mimi/PopPop's to celebrate Easter with them, Aunt Terri, Vicki, and Charlie (aka Jamie) as Aubrey kept calling him on our way home last night! :)
Aubrey had a blast.  They had a mini Easter Egg hunt for her which though she was slow getting started she ended up have a tons of fun.  The best part was before we were leaving she thought she needed to put the eggs back where she had found them---all around the house.  It was very cute.

Today we got up, had our Egg hunt, ate breakfast and went to church.  Aubrey doesn't refer to the Easter Bunny as "Easter Bunny"  She simply calls it "Easter"  She was excited that "Easter" brought her lots of bubbles and some sidewalk chalk.  Not to mention the jelly beans!
After church we served by counting the offerings.

It's been a great day Celebrating the Resurrection.  The part that's been the most fun for us has been going through the Resurrection Eggs with Aubrey.  Each day this week we've read a different part of the Passion from her Bible.  She's been very engaged in the whole story.  Her fascination rests on Jesus dying on the cross and Mary being sad.  She's wanted us to read this story every day.  Today she's been telling us that she learned in church that Jesus died on the Cross.  Now we are trying to teach her about Him coming back and going to heaven.  That led to lots of questions about Heaven.  I love it!

Happy Easter!
Enjoy the pictures!
