Aubrey's 1st Dance Recital
Last night was a first of many for us- Aubrey's Dance Recital. We feel like this is the start of a great passion for Aubrey and we couldn't be more excited about that.
It was so much fun watching her the past few months learn the ballet routine to "Kiss The Girls" from the Little Mermaid. She knows all the basic positions for ballet and tap. It's very neat when Rudy is simply standing and it happens to be in a ballet position to see her get all excited that "Dad's in Second Position".
Anyhow, I was room mom last night so I was only upstairs to watch Aubrey's dance. Rudy, Mimi, PopPop and Benjamin were there in the crowd cheering all the dancers on...just a little louder for Aubrey.
It was a great evening and she's already asking when she can do it again. She's in the summer session for dance but there isn't another recital until next summer!
Here is the video from Saturday's dress rehearsal. We weren't able to film last night since the studio is doing it professionally for parents to purchase.
There are also a few photos from dress rehearsal and the recital. (Doesn't the face shot of Aubrey remind you of the women from Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" video??!! Some of the mom's joked last night we should get her a guitar and parody the video...stay tuned!)
Well, not only does she have the knowledge for dance she has the natural ability for it too! And, I'm saying this as a teacher/dancer, not an aunt.
