Stefanski 5K
Today was the Stefanski 5K.

We held the 5K to help Rudy train for Half Madness- Half Marathon in Batavia. As part of the intermediate half marathon training program he's following (compliments of Hal Higdon), he was supposed to run a 5K race. There weren't any races today that really appealed to him so he simply planned to run his own race. That's when I had the idea that we could hold our own race, which we did.
Rudy mapped out his route and Aubrey and I did everything at the house to make it feel like a race.
Aubrey was the Starter. She yelled for Rudy to "GO DAD!"
She also was in charge of cheering and holding the finishing rope.
Benjamin was in charge of cheering and holding the other end of the rope.
I was in charge of overall race logistics, creating the signs, holding the stop watch, getting out the post-race snacks, and taking pictures.
It was a lot of fun and Aubrey made sure to let him know all day how great his racing was! Having been able to "participate" in his training was really a nice difference between the half marathon training and the marathon training. The two times he's trained for the marathon, there wasn't really much to do until race day cheering; which was a lot of fun, but came after a long summer of LOTS of running!
Great job Rudy...sorry there was no prize money!
