Sonic Boom!
Rudy had a FABULOUS race today! He finished the 2008 Half Madness Half Marathons (13.1 miles) in 1 hr 39 min 17 sec.
That's a 7:35 min pace/mile...faster than he had hoped.
Aubrey, Benjamin, myself, and our friend Carrie got up early to go cheer him on while running. Carrie (and John) have been to all Rudy's big races. It means a lot to him and I love the company while walking around trying to see him.
It was a great course and easy to see him a few different places along the route (Start- Mile 4 and between Miles 9 & 10).
The weather couldn't have been more perfect for running- cool crisp air in the start with a slight warming by finish.
Rudy finished 12th in his age group and 81st overall (779 total runners). That's just AWESOME!!
Tonight for dinner we went to Sonic Drive-In. It's finally open in Aurora!!!!
They advertise like crazy and there hasn't been one remotely close to this area until now. It was very busy and we had to wait about 30 minutes in the car to get a stall. Once in the stall and ordered, food didn't take long to bring out and was good- for Burgers, Fries, and Shakes.
Aubrey got a kick out of eating in the car. (that's me with a mouth full of cheeseburger!)
