Visiting IN
We had a great weekend visiting Grandma and PopPop in Indiana this weekend.
We left mid-afternoon on Friday and took the new I-355 -->80 route! NICE! It doesn't necessarily cut any miles off the trip but doesn't stop the flow of the drive which is nice! Aubrey sat quietly in the back watching a movie with her headphones or "ear mitts" as she calls them on. We went home via South Bend so we could have dinner with my friend Cathy and her family. We got there around 7pm (IN time) and had pizza and hung out with them for a couple hours. Aubrey was most excited to play with all the toys she doe
sn't own. Her other source of excitement was seeing
a goose and 4 deer in their backyard which backs into a forest.
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Shipshewana (Amish Country) to go to Yoder's Meat Market. We are pricing buying half a cow. We've done this in years past and it's not only more economical, but the hormone and antibiotic-free beef is so much better in taste and quality for the price that we really prefer to do it again.
From Yoder's we went to the Mercantile Center in the downtown area. This is a 3-story shopping center with a very antique Carousel on the 3rd floor. Aubrey LOVES the carousel. She also got to ride in a Buggy. Some of the Amish families, for a small fee, will take you for a buggy ride. We did this last summer and she really enjoyed it. She did this year also! Although when the horse "neighed" she got a little scared, it was quickly muted once she was in the buggy!
The rest of the weekend we spent hanging out with Aunt Sara, Aalyah, Grandma and PopPop at their house!
Aubrey loves visiting. She gets very upset to leave, though she was okay to be home once we got here!
Unfortunately, she's not feeling well now. She woke us up around 130AM shivering really bad which turned out to be a HIGH fever. She and I slept on the chair downstairs and she finally broke her fever. She's still sleeping on the couch! Like her father, she's gets delirious when she has a fever. It's very weird.
Guess it's a good thing it's going to be a rainy day!
Sounds like a very eventful weekend! Sorry Aubrey isn't feeling well. This is the perfect day to stay inside and cuddle!
